Admissions - Tuition, Fees, and Financial Aid

Tuition and fees for the 2007-2008 year are $14,727 per year for residents and $19,491 per year for non-residents. This includes all UO related fees. Tuition and fee schedules are subject to revision each July by the Oregon State Board of Higher Education, and final determination on the amounts is available at that time.

The fee schedule is available at http://registrar/common/tuition/tuitionrates.php#grad. Of the total amount, the fee portion is $1000 per term.

For help in calculating your baseline costs per term to attend the UO as an admitted student and for information on fees (how much and what they are for), go to: http://registrar.uoregon.edu/common/tuition/tuition_estimator.php.

Because this is a self-supporting program, we are unable to offer staff fee tuition rates at this time.

When you are talking with the university financial aid office, be sure to identify yourself as a CRES student. (CRES is the term financial aid uses for our program.)

Securing a Graduate Teaching Fellowship (GTF) position can help lighten the financial load. GTF's include a tuition waiver plus a stipend. The Masters program is not yet able to offer any GTF's but it is possible, though not easy, to secure a GTF elsewhere on campus.

If you are interested in a GTF position, check the following links. In addition to the Graduate School GTF positions, other departments will offer GTF positions which may or may not be restricted to students from that department. You'll have to check the site of each department. Try the search function on the University web site as well.

The selection process is quite competitive since the positions are in such high demand.
