Our Program
The Conflict and Dispute Resolution Masters degree program is structured to prepare a new generation of scholars, practitioners, and educators to rethink traditional approaches to conflict. Grounded in dispute resolution theory, the program combines broad interdisciplinary training and opportunities for individualized study and skills development. It equips its students with the conceptual knowledge and practical skills to meet today's challenges with new answers and better questions.
The Masters degree is not a law degree and prospective students do not apply to the law school but rather to the UO Graduate School. Though some of our students pursue concurrent JD and Masters degrees, our program addresses conflicts both within and beyond the legal framework. Some graduates will work within the legal context and others will work in other contexts.
